It's Easier Than Pie!

Need a last minute treat to serve, give, or bring? Try this super easy Chocolate Crunch. It's my variation on a Gooseberry Patch recipe (which are ALWAYS good!). It takes less than 10 minutes to make, and then sits overnight.

You will need
1 1/2 sleeves of saltine crackers
1 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of butter
1 12oz package of chocolate chips.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt 1 cup of brown sugar and 1 cup of butter in a heavy sauce pan, stirring occasionally. Bring to and let boil for 2 min.
Meanwhile, line a cookie sheet with a single layer of saltine crackers. Use half crackers if needed, until sheet is completely lined.
When butter / sugar mixture is done, pour over crackers and spread to cover entire sheet.
Place in oven for 5 min.
Take out of the oven and sprinkle one bag of chocolate chips (I like semi-sweet). Let stand for 5 min. then spread melted chips over entire sheet.
Let stand overnight. Cut or break up into small pieces. 1 tray makes about 40 cracker size pieces. Serve or store in a airtight container.

They are always a crowd-pleaser!
